Asprey ebony straight razor
Asprey Bond Street

This cut throat razor appears not to have been used. It was made for Asprey of Bond Street by John & William Ragg of Sheffield around 1880. It features skilled hand file work down the back edge of the blade and ebony grips. Not on the faces of the blade. It appears to have been part of a seven day set and has a day engraved on the back edge. Its overall length is nine inches and it comes gift boxed in a plain black gift box and is contained in a velvet drawstring bag. These are not original to the item. Stock number Asprey 1. Price 75

A Wilkinson system razor. In hardly used condition. The case still contains the instructions and the strop. A complicated ornate device pristine but in a grubby box. Price 48

imperial razor 200

The Imperial safety razor is hand turned Amboyne burl wood. It comes from Russia and is Birch burl that was used in one of the Faberge eggs. Burl is a wood which has features and distinctive shapes and colours formed by stress undergone by the tree whilst growing. You can see this item by clicking on the logo below.

Magnificent flow blue shaving mug with sinuous art nouveau curves. No chips of blemishes. Height three and half inches. Stock number Shaving mug1. Price 58

Shaving mug satsuma

Hand painted and gilded Satsuma Japanese made shaving mug. No chips or cracks and still displays the ornate gloss finish as the day it was painted. The decoration is of stylistic birds painted in the Japanese style and is the product of a master craftsman. A large piece height four and a quarter inches. Just stood in your bathroom it’s an item to be admired. Stock number Shaving mug 2. Price 55
